Here's what I know about this item: It is a Polytone Mini-Brute III. That's all.
Not being a musician, I'm not even sure if it's considered a speaker or an amp. I'd say a speaker since there are no control knobs on it and only a jack in the back that was buried inside the cabinet. I was able to fish it through the opening in the back and then secure it from falling back inside by putting a rubber washer around it. To get any sound out of it, a friend said I'd have to put a "head" on it which, I assume, is that be-bop lingo for an amplifier.
That said, I don't have access to one of those (maybe I can bring it to a music shop and see if they can plug it in and crank it up) and then I'd have a better idea of how it works. Until then, I put $250 on this and have no idea if that's high or low or just right. I live near Orlando and since this weighs about 2,000 pounds it's probably not cost effective to mail it -- unless it was owned by Jimi Hendrix and then it would be. You'd have to decide if it's worth the extra cost of shipping.
Watch this space. I'll try to get it tested out and some more information about it.
