This is a very rare and exclusive Morris model that is one of the highest caliber acoustics they ever made, it was an expensive model in 1979 as it cost 80,000 yen which was about 18 months of pay for a recent college graduate at that time! It’s modeled after the Martin D-45 with similar features and appointments but with a 3 piece back like a D-35. The sound will absolutely blow you away! This is one the best Morris guitars I have ever played and will hold its own with any Martin or Gibson of similar vintage. Definitely sounds better than a new Martin D-45. It is rich with tone and packs a real punch, you will love it after one strum. Solid spruce top with dual plate back and sides (two layers of solid wood joined by natural resins for the ultimate balance of sound and durability). It features the exclusive “diamond” bridge pins that were reserved only for exclusive models and real shell inlays and bindings.
The guitar is in great shape overall with just one small ding in the top and some clouding in the rosewood as is typical for MIJ guitars from this era. Comes with a nice SKB hard case with key.
