Westville Solar TD Thinline Archtop Jazz Guitar

Here is an amazing and unique guitar. Google these guitars if you are not familiar with them; they are made by Masaki Nishimura in Japan and are the cutting edge of archtop guitar design.  They use all solid carved woods (including the sides, which are carved), have a carved spruce top and ebony fingerboards, and an innovative tailpiece.

The Solar TD is very similar to the top of the line Kurt Rosenwinkel "Vanguard" model, but is fully hollow without a center block.  This design gives you the best of both worlds -- it has the comfort and bite of a semi hollow but the weight and airiness of a fully hollow archtop.

Plays like a laser with low action -- buttery and amazing, has an L5-like quality in the neck position and 335-type sound in the bridge position.

All solid, carved woods, no laminates.  Includes ultra high-quality blue Gigbag ($200 upgrade from the hard case).

It is in excellent condition with the exception of the finish dings shown in the pictures (I've owned a couple of Westvilles and they all have relatively thin (but beautiful) nitro finishes--if you play it it will eventually get dinged!).

With shipping and import duties (yes, there are import duties from Japan), this will run you about $6000 new --grab this one much less and avoid the hassle and uncertainty of International shipping!

Westville Solar is a very unique full hollow guitar which is completely made of solid carved wood. It has solid carved Sitka Spruce top and solid carved Hard Maple back and also solid carved (routed) Hard Maple side rim.

 The side rim is routed from 1 1/2" thick two piece Hard Maple plate with an end block part together. And a tailpiece is mounted on the end block part with a Hard Maple spacer through the body top.

 The Solar has responsive and powerful sound with beautiful overtone and quite long sustain with its enough rigidity. It provides players many new ideas and possibilities for exploring their music.
