Here's an amp that is ready for the rest of your playing career. It's been fully repaired and needs nothing... That being said, you can try out different speaker combinations and possibly put a 6L6 into the power section for different sounds.
This is a 1974 Fender Champ Silverface, that has been repaired and with a Blackface panel. There were no changes to the circuit from the Blackface to the Silverface era, so putting a black panel on it isn't disingenuous and looks a lot better.
Repairs are:
"I actually have a cabinet with two JBL-208 8" speakers that I use with a THD Univalve class A tube amp. They sound awesome. They are reminiscent to the D120F and D130F classic speakers with the aluminum dome in the center. Of course these do not have near the power handling capacity of the larger JBL musical instrument speakers, but they sound awesome. They are ideal for getting really bright clean tone or great overdrive without blowing your brains out with high volume levels. . . If you can get one for a good price it will probably sound great in a Champ."
A bit about the item:
Beautifully simple in design so you can get straight to those twangy, articulated tones you know and love, the Fender Champ Silverface Combo Amp delivers one of the best vintage options for the studio in an attainable package. One volume knob and EQ controls for bass/treble let you dial in sound on the fly and keep your sound tight and focused with the 8" design. There's a reason why so many studio pros have flocked to these little guys.
