About This Listing

The set we have is a 70s era Sonor red acrylic drum set in the first photo. 8x12, 9x13, 16x16, 14x22, 5x14 snare. This set is in excellent shape. These sets are rare, especially in such excellent condition. Sonor shells were thicker than Ludwig’s Vistalite shells from this same era. Sonor shells were 6mm. These drums would have a drier sound and more projection, which is what you get with a thicker shell. Also, the shells are structurally strong. On the 70s Vistalite shells you often get cracks at pressure points such as tom leg mounts, spur brackets and tom holder plates. This is not the case with the thicker Sonor shell. Snare drum strainer arm replaced with a screw. Red see-thru heads are cool. Set has a very fat sound with these heads. I have shown some other photos from Sonor’s 70s catalog just for fun. NOTES FROM STEVE: I just finished recording a video with this set. Seriously killer tone. We’ll have the video up in a couple of days. And, I used two insanely cool vintage Zildjian cymbals in the video: a 30” and a 26”!!!
NOTE: Overseas shipping is just an estimate. Some countries are more, some less. Contact us with your address for a firm quote. No returns on vintage gear.
