Number 61 of a limited run of 300, built with a number of unique features including the Tune-O-Matic bridge, rather than the usual wraparound and chrome P90s, rather than black. The body has been finished (possibly refinished?) in a dark nitro lacquer, rather than the more usual cherry.
This guitar was owned by Pete Doherty - given as a gift by Mick Whitnal (Mik) who was lead guitarist of the Babyshambles. Mik wrote a note to Pete on the back of the headstock (‘To Pete from Mik’). Authenticity confirmed by Wunjo Guitars on Denmark Street, London, who sold the guitar to me back in 2011.
A few knocks here and there and some blistering lacquer on the headstock. The neck is set at a slight angle back from the body, with the bridge set to give an a comfortable action measuring 1.75mm on 6th and 1.5mm on the 1st string. The neck is finished in the typical cherry and has some marks on the back. The fingerboard is in good shape with no dings / marks and all inlays still present. The frets are I believe all original with lots of life left in them and the binding is all present and in great shape. The solid mahogany body itself is in good condition with four screw holes visible near the bridge and some minor dings consistent with age.
Beautiful to play. No nonsense bare bones guitar that deserves a good new home.
Hiscox hard case included.
