About This Listing
David Flammang is a wonderful craftsman, with endless talent and bottomless heart. This guitar he built for his father in 1997, a skilled woodworker in his own right, and he proceeded in his retirement to take it purportedly to all 50 states, showing off his son's work. And it does.
This was David's first guitar with a red spruce top, and he also chose some pretty spectacular Honduran mahogany for the back, sides and neck. And in a nice touch, he put an East Indian rosewood plate on the back of the headstock and used it for trim throughout. The marquetry and understated detail are completely in tune with this beautiful little guitar.
1 3/4" nut, 2 1/4" spacing at the saddle. Short scale (24 7/8"). 13" at lower bout. 3 3/8"-4" depth. Excellent condition, no repairs or monkey-business. It does have a strap button on the heel, properly installed by the builder.
It's one of those guitar that just surprises you, for its output and tone, from such a modest size. There is just nothing better, on the couch.
Includes custom hard shell case
