About This Listing

For your consideration, the Fender James Burton Signature Standard Telecaster. Serial Number: MSN503384.

The Standard model of the James Burton Signature Telecaster was introduced in 1996 and features a solid alder body. This model was inspired by Burton's third guitar, the 1953 Telecaster that he played on the seminal 1957 recording of "Susie Q" with Dale Hawkins.  The neck is a 1-piece maple. 1960s vintage U-shape design with a satin finish. The hardware includes a vintage six-saddle Telecaster bridge, a pair of Texas Special Telecaster single-coil pickups, a three-way switch, and vintage chrome tuners.

James Burton: The Original Telecaster Master

One of the original Telecaster masters, James Burton influenced generations of country and rock guitarists with his perfectly phrased late-'50s/early-'60s Telecaster work with Ricky Nelson, and his later stints with Elvis Presley, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello. and many others which only further-enhancing his revered elder-statesman status. His was the first signature Telecaster model, and today's James Burton Signature Telecaster is as fiery as ever with special features including: Vintage-style “U”-shaped neck profile; two specially designed James Burton Texas Special single-coil pickups; and vintage-style strings-thru-body hardtail bridge.

The James Burton Standard Telecaster was designed by James Burton along with Dan Smith at Fender. This model is patterned after mid-century Fender Telecaster guitars played by Burton during his long career with Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley,

I plugged this guitar straight into my 100-Watt Marshall half-stack and my ’65 reissue Fender Deluxe Reverb amps and it sounds really good especially when the amps were cranked and the tubes pushed to distortion.

This instrument was made in Mexico and is in excellent condition as I coud not find any marks or blemishes on it. Comes in a hard-shell case.

You will not be disappointed!
