Once upon a time, Gibson tried to make a 'run' at the Fender tweed family - that is the era that this amp is from. It has the growly, farty, crunchy sound of a Fender Tweed Deluxe. There is very little headroom, and if you are plugged into input 1, the volume knob on input 2 helps shape the gain and vice versa - just like some of the old Fenders. I have a couple other amps that sound like this - so this one has to go!
Please pay close attention to the pictures. This amp is NOT a museum piece. When my tech went through this years ago- he stated that it was mechanically original, except for the speaker. He also added a three prong cord to it. I am pretty sure that the GIBSON logo was purchased and attached by me. So, that is what I know about this amp. I have no intention of disassembling it, so please don't ask me to - I am not a technician.
Tested on 8/24/2020. The only thing I noted was that the knob for volume 1 was a little stiff, likely just needs contact cleaned. It still functions as designed.
