As you can see in the photos this is a 1964 Pre-CBS Black Face Fender Vibrolux Reverb combo amp.
To my knowledge this amp has had only 2 owners, myself, and the person who traded it in to Arizona Music in the early 70's which is where I bought it.
The amplifier has been in its cover, in controlled environment storage since early 80's.
The amplifier has only had a couple of tube changes since I have owned it and still has the death cap and two blade plug.
If you buy this amp with the intention of using it on a regular basis a conversion to a three wire plug and servicing of the filter caps would be in order.
According to the tube chart this unit was from production run 1 in October 1964 chassis serial # is A 00699.
This is reinforced by the Pre-CBS labeling and the "snowman" 8 knobs with the set screw at 10.
Notice also in the detail photos of the front panel a couple of knobs are missing the chrome inserts.
The kick back legs are Fender Stock and were on the amp when I bought it.
My understanding is that the legs were put on when the original owner purchased it.
As is apparent from the photo of the front, the logo is original,
but the grill cloth was changed when I bought it in the early 70's.
To my knowledge these are the original speaker/drivers.
This unit comes with a Period Fender cover, original kick back legs, original reverb tank and original foot-switch.
Additional information such as internal chassis pictures and transformer numbers are available, if requested.
Please refer to pictures provided.
