"Travis Picking" finger-style or pick-and-fingers guitar style popularized by the great Merle Travis,
and further developed by players like Chet Atkins, Brian Setzer, and Tommy Emmanuel (among others).
It is a tricky style to master!
This DVD takes you through everything you need to get this style under your fingers,
and provides lots of musical examples for you to learn, practice, and perform,
including "Cocaine Blues", "Nine Pound Hammer", and "Cannonball Rag".

- Important picking patterns, and how they are used to build up a fingerpicking "vocabulary"
- Example etudes and pieces to demonstrate playing 8th note upbeats while maintaining a steady bass line (key to this style)
- Creating rhythmic variations to create your own versions of the example pieces
- Understanding the chord progressions and which melody notes apply
- Adding single note runs with open strings for some extra "flash" in your playing ;-)
- Turnarounds for each piece, and how to embellish and alter them
- A complete understanding of each example piece, section by section, with chapter markers for each (easy start-and-stop as you work through the DVD)

MONSTROUS sounds. At full blast, this pedal bellows like a banshee... back the volume down on your guitar and presto, clarity chimes back in. Quick turnaround considering it was hand-wired and shipped from Germany, and you can’t beat the price. I will be back for more.
