Custom “Woody” Scroll Bass made by luthier Jared Kurtov of North Carolina. One-of-a-kind
I removed this listing last January because I was heading to Florida for the winter. I’m back home now for the summer and listing the bass again.
This is a stunning bass. The quality and level of craftsmanship is incredible. Attention was paid on every single detail. Just look at the pictures. The top is Walnut; the back is Koa with matching control cavity plate. The core and neck are curly maple. The veneers in the maple layers are walnut as well.
35” scale with ebony fretboard. The neck thickness is the same as a Jazz bass and the width is that of as P bass. Kent Armstrong HBMN1 humbucker and an Aguilar OP3 Preamp with Vol, Treble, Mid, Bass Controls also has a mid-selector switch that changes the mid control from 400 to 800 hz. Hipshot tuners and bridge. I want to point out that 2 very small dings that can beseen in the last 2 pictures. The one to the right of the jack looks like I may have done it with the tip of the cable while trying to find the jack The other one is on the head stock. Still, this bass deserves a "mint" rating.
She plays easy and beautifully with low action. She is very versatile in tones produced with the Aguilar electronics. Very comfortable and weighs only 6 lbs. It ships with a brand new hard shell case.
I'm the original owner and bought it directly from Jared Kurtov
