I am offering a rare Sunn bass amp. This is one of the first 100 or so amps made by Sunn. It uses a Dyna amplifier chassis and a JBL D140 speaker.
I purchased this from the original owner. It was bought in 1966 at Marshall Music in Lansing, MI. It was used in a classic 1960s rock band, and then sat for decades.
The speaker has been professionally reconed, and the amplifier was serviced by Marshall Music (same store it was purchased from). It is a great restoration job, with the "multi" filter cap "can" replaced by a can from the same manufacturer (fits perfectly in the chassis where the original was mounted). Some of the caps that were replaced were placed inside the shell of the original caps, to preserve the vintage look of the circuit.
There is slight wear, but overall it is in amazing condition. It sounds great. Though this is only the 40 watt model, I have used it on several small gigs with great success. It's a little dusty in the pics! The faceplate is in amazing condition without fading or scratches.
I prefer local pickup, but I will ship if I have to. The cabinet has large casters on it, which were installed by the original owner. If I ship it, I will remove the casters. Don't miss this most classic and ultimate living room bass rig! Has original EL34 tubes, which test strong and balanced. Rectifier tube is a modern replacement, otherwise all original.
