Up for grabs is this early 2000's G&L Legacy HB (modified) - originally with one humbucker and two single coils
modified as follows:
Maple neck and fingerboard (1 piece birds-eye maple) Medium jumbo frets
Locking tuners as installed originally by G&L as custom option on this guitar 12" fingerboard - fast and easy action
Body wood - not too sure about this one - I thought it was ash
(premium finish G&L guitars listed as ash (alder on solid finishes) - looks a bit like alder to me these days, not sure, but it does sound more like ash to me - snappier.
Guitar comes with original hard-shell case and is still in great shape, frets still good, a few dings in the finish as pictured in photos supplied (3 that I could see), but other than that, no buckle rash or major blemishes, just home use, no gigs , still looks very good.
Included in the case are the trem arm, a key for the case and the original certificate of authenticity - see pics.
Guitar sounds amazing and unique in my opinion.
Please note - do not confuse these earlier made G&L's with the ones currently being produced with different specs, especially the cheaper ones (in the UK that I see) that are under a grand and often have a solid finish headstock.
I know later in 2000's G&L came out with an inferior product that cut corners especially on the bridge - at the time I read that they had the same 'far-east' cast pot metal bridges that came on the tribute models instead of the solid steel and brass saddles of the USA ones. And the under a grand legacy's have a gigbag instead of hardshell case. The one listed is from the better years of G&L USA in my opinion.

modified as follows:
- Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge
- 2 x rail humbucker pickups wired to split to single coil (just under 8K splits to 5k as single coil on mini toggle switch)
- Original 250k volume and tone replaced to 500k CTS volume and 500K master tone control (all three pickups)
- Remaining pot wired to the Humbucker and used as variable split control - as you turn it down it rolls off one coil - all the way to off position = Tone Zone operating as single coil providing a huge amount of tonal options when combined with the rail pickup in humbucker or split mode from the mini toggle switch.
