Made in Japan in the late 90's (when Yamaha models had a great reputation), this RGX model was aimed at competing with the Ibanez RG and JEM models that were on the rise.
The RGX-612J has a smooth thin maple neck, rosewood fingerboard (24 jumbo frets, 628mm scale length) and contoured basswood body, weighs 3.5kg's. Seems to be all original with the exception of missing locking screws on the nut and some new pots.
Received a full setup and service prior to listing. Good vintage condition with plenty of signs of use and basic surface wear, structurally it's all good though with no cracks or breaks. Frets have plenty of life.
