Ludwig & Ludwig Drum Set circa 1940 White Marine Pearl w/ Zildjian Zilco Cymbals

I have available a vintage Ludwig & Ludwig from the early 1940's. It is in good working condition and is completely playable. Cosmetically it is in good shape, but of course has some minor and flaws and wear. For being about 75 years old, I think it looks fantastic. The White Marine Pearl wrap is intact on all drums, and has a slight yellow vintage color to it. Little to no corrosion on the hardware. The set has been lightly cleaned to remove dust and dirt, but vintage patina on the hardware remains. I acquired the set from the grandson of the original owner, who purchased it from Chicago's famous "Frank's Drum Shop".

NOTES:
Bass Drum - has original Ludwig & Ludwig calfskin heads. They are in remarkably good condition and still usable. Marking on the inside of the drum indicate a 1941 build year. A few yellowed spots on the wrap from where the rubber feet of the console rested. A few small spots on the rims where the wrap is missing. Original white paint on the inside.

Snare Drum - Brand new Aquarian American Vintage heads installed. Has original snares. Drum is slightly out of round approx 1/16" to 1/8" causing new heads to fit snug, but still usable. Cracks and slight damage to the wrap near the rim by the throw off, see picture. Snare throw off works fine. Slight gap in places where reinforcement ring appears to be pulling away from the shell, but it is still securely attached. Original heads were destroyed, but the original wood flesh hoops are included if you are the type who wants to installed real calfskin heads. Appears to be maple shell with maple reinforcement rings. Muffler present, but missing the felt.

Rack Tom - New Aquarian American Vintage head installed. Drum is round and head installed easy. Original calfskin head with flesh hoop included, but the head is quite worn. Tacked on bottom head had a large rip in it, new calfskin head just installed. Two tension rod clips were broken and have been replaced with newer Pearl claws. Original broken claws included. Marking on the inside of the drum indicate a 1941 build year. Since this is a complete set, I can only assume this tom was built before the bass and they weren't shipped out together until a couple years later. Appears to be maple shell with maple reinforcement rings. Muffler present. Includes original drum key and clip.

Floor Tom - New Aquarian American Vintage head installed. Drum is round and head installed easy. Original calfskin head with flesh hoop included, but the head is worn and has a small hole/tear. The tacked on head appears to be original, and while it is a bit loose, still works. Has original sticker from "Franks Drum Shop" where is was purchased. Appears to be mahogany with maple reinforcement rings. One of the floor tom brackets has "Leedy" on it, which should be no surprise as the two lines were built next to each other and shared many parts. Muffler present.
