About This Listing

This is one cool 1960’s Vintage Kay Vanguard guitar with the pickup built into the pickguard. It has lots of dings and marks but that just adds to it’s funky vibe. In some ways it looks like a toy, and you wouldn’t think the pickup would sound any good buried under the pickguard, but it does, in fact it wails with a big swampy blues tone.

I love the look of these guitars, the headstock, the big fat dots on the fretboard, the printed on pickup detail, it’s quirky, full of mojo and pretty rare.
