About This Listing

This horn is one of the saxes coming out of John Leadbetter’s shop in New York City. Leadbetter has become the go-to Sax repairman in New York and many pros have been playing these horns, as main axes and as alternates for their older vintage instruments, because they sound just as good!

I believe the sax has a design based off a Selmer SBA and is hand assembled, aligned, and adjusted in JL Woodwinds shop in NYC.

The tone on this saxophone is just amazing. It hasn’t been used on a gig, barely ever left my house. Purchased brand new July 2018. No issues except cosmetic patina. A polish will make it look real shiny (I like my horns with patina).

Comes with a regular neck strap and in a nice form fitting silver case which has some nicks and scratches, but otherwise looks great and is very protective.

I am a trombonist for a living, but wanted to purchase a sax to learn, practice, and improve on. While it has been a rewarding journey, due to the ongoing global situation, I am trying to thin the herd to raise some funds.

The JL tenors start around $3800 brand new. Open to reasonable offers!
