About This Listing

Don't forget to check out the Youtube video below to see/hear this 1968 Newporter!

What a cool find for all the lefties out there!

Neck stamp dates this guitar to August 26 1968. Birthday coming up!

After a quick Google search on the date, I found out that "Hey Jude" was released the same day by The Beatles. So, of course I had to play it on the video to showcase the sound. I am not a lefty player, so I had to learn it upside down. I feel for all the lefties out there!

If the date was not cool enough, I found a "Peace" symbol stamp from the Fender factory. (3rd picture) I've never seen that before!

What a cool piece of American history!

After playing around with it for a few days, I put some new .10's on the guitar. It sounds great! No fret buzz. I did spot a few pitted areas.

Action feels good. Nice and low around home position. A little bit higher closer to the sound hole. To be expected for a 52 years young guitar!

No breaks or repairs.

Original tuners.

Missing pickguard.

This guitar was played and loved for years! So it has that true mojo feel.

Last two pics showcase the lower bout of the instrument. Some minor cracks. Just needs to be humidified and loved!

All questions welcome.

Stay tuned for some more vintage lefty guitars soon!
