I bought this many years ago off E-Bay. The guy said it was modified by David Bray, but had no proof as he was not the person who sent it for the mod.
This is a versatile amp capable of just about anything from clean to crunch to more than enough gain to play liquid leads. I prefer to jumper the channels together as I did for the video. Channels can be used separately of course. I do not know if you can use an A/B box to switch on the fly.
The treble pot on the left channel is a little dirty. Other than that I’ve never had an issue. The electrolytic caps look to have all been changed and appear in good shape. The head shell has numerous dings and imperfections and small touch ups. All in all, it’s not bad for its age. See pics. The mounting tabs on the choke are no longer present and the mounting is non factory but secure. Power tubes are Winged C 6L6GC and the preamp tubes are JJ,Tung Sol, mixed. All tested strong on my tester.
If your looking for a high gain amp that’s tons of fun to play and sounds great at home volume and band levels, this is a great choice. If your into crabcore and you need some super tight bottom end to chunk your crab walk to, you might look elsewhere.
