When I first picked this super light weight Flying V up, I knew I'd be taking it home with me. It has the perfect neck and just resonates like a professionally seasoned instrument should!
Years ago, I acquired this Flying V from a Japanese guitar collector. He explained to me that it was built for the 2003 NAMM show and, at the time, was a bit rushed for completion. The pickguard material has some rough edges and is additionally used for the "V" shaped plate that the strings run through. Another rushed feature is a toggle switch plate being flipped over and used for the output jack ring. There is a small hole visible near the jack, however it would seemingly be covered up with a proper Flying V output jackplate. Smooth plastic is used instead of the traditional rubber slip strip on the bottom guitar as well - to me, this is all the more rock and roll!
The factory installed import Grover tuning machines were replaced with superior vintage Grover USA rotomatic tuning machines and the original Epiphone logo (small metallic sticker) was replaced with a plastic gold "Gibson*" logo.
*This guitar is sold as an Epiphone brand Flying V. It is Korean built and made with a Korina body and birdseye maple neck.
Please note this Flying V is stamped USED above the serial number. Historic evidence of it's participation in the NAMM show, this branding additionally represents the attempt of Gibson and Epiphone to prevent the sale of this guitar the general public.
I have had this Flying V for a while now and it has been 100% trustworthy and a reliable friend. It is light weight and always in tune, a players dream guitar! Not to mention a power-chord King! These P90 pickups are powerful, full bodied, and roar!
It comes protected in an official Epiphone "Amos" hard case. The case has many stickers which cover minor tears in the tolex underneath. The interior of the case is in like-new condition. Included is the original black single ply trussrod cover as well as my personal one-off Mono-Plak trussrod cover.
