The DG15-DBA is a beautifully crafted dreadnought guitar. The back and sides are made of Mexican bocote, which is not only a beautiful looking wood, but its incredibly resonant too. Anyone looking for a handmade guitar with amazing projection and clarity should not overlook this eye-catching, ear-pleasing masterpiece.
The Merida DG15-DBA is an outstanding dreadnought guitar. It features a solid Canadian cedar top and Mexican bocote back and sides. The comment we hear most when this guitar is picked up and played is "I feel the instrument resonating against my body!" This lightweight, highly resonant instrument has a wonderful, full and even tone. 99% of these guitars will ship with a "sapwood" stripe down the center of the guitar (as pictured)!
Sapwood: the soft outer layers of recently formed wood between the heartwood and the bark, containing the functioning vascular tissue.
Bocote is an exotic wood native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. It features a wide range of grain patterns from straight to wild, with curved lines and swirls. The color ranges from golden brown to tan to golden yellow.
