Believed to be 1978 based on the '78' in serial number. Definitely is 70s.
MIJ in Fujigen . This was a brand imported into Canada I believe for one distributer specifically.
Locking tuners added.Bridge pickup I just had installed a 1980 Gibson Tim Shaw PAF. Stock pickup included.
Stock pickups I believe are the interesting humbucker looking single coils that were in some MIJ stuff. Sounds great in the neck position. Was a bit weak in the bridge for what I wanted, hence the Tim Shaw. The Tim Shaw works well with the stock pickup currently. In the middle (both) position, the pickups are out of phase like Peter Green style. Sounds great for lead work.
Lots of dings as you see. No headstock repair, just some paint chipping where the fingerboard meets that area, perhaps as a result of a nut replacement that started the process. Its on both sides of the neck
Anyway note the dings. Please note the dings.
Looks like a one piece body. Its mahogany. Not super heavy but not light. Maybe 8.5-9 pounds. Not 100% sure.
Chunky neck profile. Truss rod works. It has perfect relief for me currently with 10s on. I think I have the truss rod nearly all the way relaxed. It has tons of life left for tightening. If you wanted to ADD relief, you may have to use thicker strings to pull harder on the neck.
Truss rod cover not original. Knobs not original.
Original? hard shell case. One latch doesnt work but most do!
