About This Listing

The 70's produced great guitars from K. Yairi, and this is a rare gem, even if the "classical guitar snobs" would turn their noses up on it.  I've seen some pretty awesome YouTube videos made from very good players on this guitar, though.

If you search 5037 you will find the subsequent 12-string model.

This classical model was not made long and evolved to the CY-140 model in 1974, the top of the line model at the time.  It was modeled after the Ramirez 1-A.   Cedar top; has some player wear, mostly fingernail wear from flamenco; this is a beautiful guitar with book-matched laminated Brazilian rosewood (it looks alot like my old '68 Martin 00-21 that had Brazilian back and sides).  It is a great player with wonderful sound as well; ebony fingerboard, mahogany neck with ebony back-stripe; RW binding with maple purfling.
