Luxman SQ38FD MK-II Stereo Integrated Amplifier in Excellent Condition

Luxman SQ38FD MKII:
A legendary Japanese "Golden Era" tube amplifier!

The original Luxman SQ38FD is a vintage, exceptionally good all-tube control amplifier produced in Japan in 1970, during the “Golden Era” of Japanese HiFi audio equipment. Both the Luxman brand and their line of tube amplifiers are renowned for their exceptional performance, especially in the mid range, and are generally considered “world class” by critics. The original SQ38FD and the MK-II version are loaded with tubes and feature 4x 50CA10, 2x 6DT8/6AQ8, and 2x 6267 vacuum tubes and 4x 12AX7, 4x DS16A, and 4x DS16C diodes. This amp has a rated output of 30W + 30W (4Ω, 8Ω, 16Ω). The amp was handmade in Japan and features a certain quality of construction you can immediately notice, as is expected from Japanese audio equipment from this period. The “MK-II” version was released in 1974 and features a few improvements over the first model, including a switch from a coupling capacitor to a film-type capacitor. Furthermore, the aesthetics were changed to include a bronze panel and different knobs. Finding this incredible amp in very good condition is tough, so don’t miss this one!

This unit is in excellent condition, and shows only some light natural signs of aging (please see photos), including some minor scratches and other coloration. Overall it looks fantastic. It has been thoroughly tested and checked by our professional in-house technician, confirming its flawless working quality. Luxman amps are known for their robust construction and use of the highest quality parts, so it’s likely this unit will see many more years of use.
