(USED) Here is a rare piece from Moravia, NY luthier E.A. Foley.  His OM combines some traditional design elements with distinctive cosmetic flare and some seriously nice tone wood selection.

Though the spec sheet says "deep body" this instrument has the typical 4" depth at the lower bout, and ascribes to typical OM dimensions.  The first thing you'll see is the cascading bearclaw Engelmann spruce top, deep, three-dimensional, very fun to behold.

The wavy Brazilian rosewood back and sides have a beautiful "maiden hair" figuring, and represented a $7500 up-charge on the original guitar.  The guitar is sturdy, weighing in at about 4 1/2 lbs.

Custom features abound: this guitar has a slotted peghead with 1 13/16" nut (similar to a vintage 000) and saddle spacing of 2 1/4".  It is long 25.4" scale, and has a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with a custom flourish inlay pattern.  The neck shape is indicated as "round" and to us it feels like a pretty full mod V with rounded shoulders.  The pyramid bridge is Brazilian rosewood, as is the bridge plate.

The body, neck and peghead are bound in tiger maple, and the top purfling and rosette accents are faux-tortoise shell.   The peghead bears Foley's distinctive steer skull logo, made from mother of pearl.  The tuners are top of the line gold Waverly with snakewood buttons.

There are no structural issues, but there are many cosmetic items worth noting: There are a handful of very faint dings on the top of the guitar, and there are a couple faint finish checks or "whiskers" around the bridge.  There is a small patch of rough finish where the right arm would rest (probably a bug spray or sunscreen interaction with the finish) and this extends to the side in the same area.  Some minor finish hazing on the back.  The guitar is setup for flat picking, with medium action.  No fret wear.  Includes Stagg hard case.

The sound is airy and sparkly, and the guitar responds well to the lightest touch.
