2010 Marchione 15" Baritone Archtop 2010 Marchione 15" Baritone Archtop

Stephen Marchione is a master guitar builder hailing from the Montrose Arts District of Houston, Texas.  Stephen studied with Manhattan violin builder Guy Rabut.  Stephen builds electric and archtop guitars and violins using the finest woods and materials.  He is considered on of the leading-edge pioneers in the design of guitars combining the elements of jazz and classical construction.  His list of artists include Mike Mareno, Vernon Reed, Rez Abassi, Mark Knofler and John Abercrombie.

Marchione archtops have tremendous projection and give you a broad, pleasing voice at full acoustic volume. Stephens detailed work and experience consistently give you a neck that’s stable, reliable, and easy to play. The design and construction of my instruments is strongly influenced by the great guitars of the past, which I examined at length, from D’Aquistos to D’Angelicos, and Fletas to Contreras

The Baritone is based on the original 15” archtop design.  It is unique in that the length has been extended from 25.5” to 28.59”.  The Baritone is intended to be tuned to A or B. From Stephen: "If I had to compare this guitar to a bowed string instrument I would say it represents the Cello in function. My 15″ baritone Archtop’s timbre is gorgeous, exploring the bass register while still allowing brilliant treble guitar tones."

This piece has light player wear.  It plays and sounds magic.
