Hey peeps, the video down there is of this very guitar for sale! So gonzo, this guitar and it's oversized design, combined with some wonderfully garish headstock/pickguard/pickup surrounds... oh man!
These were some of the finest sounding hollow body guitars to come out of 1960s Japan. I could never figure out who made this model... the pickups are similar to Kawai, the neck is similar to Kawai, but the body and electronics are indicative of the Matsumoto area of Japan. But whoever made these did a great job and I personally love this model.
Everything is here and accounted for, all original parts and such. Tremolo arm and the uber elusive connecting knob is there, thank GOD! So hard to find these parts anymore. As you can see in the video the guitar did get a set-up but to be honest there are buzzy spots in the first position and down near the 13th-14th frets. Man, I spent so much time getting the buzzes out but as with all these old guitars it just comes down to how much time you want to spend. Some people just want to hang these on the wall, and some want to play them everyday... so if you're in the latter group then you'll need to give the frets some more attention and get a proper set-up that suits your style.
This one also comes with the original chipboard case!
