Hamer Special 1981 Red Transparent

Very nice 1981 Hamer Special with a great flame veneer top in transparent cherry red.  The period correct (and likely original) Hamer hardshell case is included.

The pickups are early 80's DiMarzio PAF models.  These are not original to the guitar, but are the exact same models as those used by Hamer in 1981.

The guitar shows very little wear, except on the back, where there is an area of belt buckle rash.  It has some chips, nicks and dings elsewhere, but nothing serious, structural or having an impact on playability.  The frets are in great shape.  See the photos for details and feel free to ask questions.  

The truss rod functions perfectly, the neck is straight and all electrical components function perfectly.  The guitar has not had nor does it need any repairs.  It's set up with 0.10 - 0.46 gauge strings, low action and no buzzing with normally aggressive playing.

The neck is relatively slim, similar to a Gibson slim 60's profile, but flatter on the back.  A "D" rather than "C" profile .  Weight is very light at 7 lbs. 7 oz.

ADDED:  Neck thickness - 0.80" at the 1st fret, 0.89" at the 12th

I've priced the guitar very fairly,  but will consider offers close to my asking price.
