About This Listing

What do you get when you cross a Les Paul, a Flying V, and a Strat? You get the wildest fever dream to ever come out of Gibson during the Norlin Era. The S-1 was introduced to compete with the bolt on, single coil market in the 1970's and, boy, did Gibson really make a splash in that market.

This particular model features the very rare combination of a black finish with a rosewood fingerboard as opposed to the standard maple. It has been rewired for the four-way switch to enable the configuration - 1: neck pickup - 2: neck and middle - 3: middle and bridge - 4: bridge pickup. The two-way toggle now functions as a kill switch.

The guitar has a little bit of honest play wear and has replacement Sperzel tuners. Not quite sure if the case is original, but it is definitely from the era.

I can send more pictures and info upon request. Thanks for looking!
