G&L Tribute SB-2 Dark Blue

G&L Tribute SW-2 Bass – Used

This bass was my main bass when I played guitar and bass in an all request cover band, 3 nights a week, for two years. While a great bass, it does have the scars from heavy usage. Comes with a G&L gig bag.

It plays well; the fret board and frets have no issues. The neck has a small 1/4” impression located roughly where the third fret is on the G-string. The thumb when playing can feel it, but it is very hard to see.   The input jack may need to be replaced – if you put pressure in the right direction, it will crackle. The volume knobs work well – no crackles there. The bridge has some small amount of pitting by the low E string.

 **Several people have asked, the actual weight of the bass, on a non certified home scale is 8.2 lbs.  The width at the nut is 1 5/8". **

Shipping weight is much higher, because of the dimensions of the shipping box, UPS charges at a higher rate.  Right now shipping is expensive.

There are at least 6 small dings on the body – they are hard to capture with the dark metallic flake blue finish. Please look at the pictures, and feel free to ask any questions.

The head stock has the worst cosmetic damage. There is some finish discoloration – due to Mardi Gras beads being wrapped around it. The bottom side edge of the head stock has numerous dings and is missing a little bit of wood from one of the curves. None of this damage affects the playability of the instrument, but make no mistake, this bass has been played!

The previous owner, as far as I know, I am the second, claimed the volume pots had been replaced, but I cannot confirm that.

Now that I have two Music Man Sting Ray -5 basses, this has just sat in the closet for 4 years.

If you are looking for a pristine instrument, this is not it. If you are looking for a backup or a practice instrument, this could be it.
