About This Listing

Summary:  Like the Les Paul, the ES-335 stands as one of Gibson's all-time most iconic models.  The ES-335 is a semi-hollowbody guitar which means that it has a solid block of wood running through its center with hollow wings on either side.  This construction style maintains the open tone of a hollowbody while helping to reduce feedback. This Gibson was made in 1999 and is referred to as a Dot 335 since it bears the 50s style Dot inlays. It has a 60s style neck profile with full 1 11/16” nut width, gloss Ebony finish and ships in its original hardshell case.

Body:  Semi hollow body with maple construction, center block to reduce feedback, f holes, gloss ebony finish and bound top and back.

Neck:  The mahogany neck has a slimmer 60s carve and 1 11/16” nut width as well as a bound rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. 24.75” scale length.

Pickups/Hardware:  It has ‘57 classic humbucker pickups, original from the factory, 2 volume, 2 tones, 3 way toggle, nickel hardware, ABR1 tune-o-matic bridge, stop-bar tailpiece and Grover Roto-matic tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This 335 is in good used condition but shows a fair amount of normal wear. There are some pick scratches on the body and pickguard, small dings around the output jack and arm rest area, a few minor scratches around the body, some light finish crackling around the headstock decals and binding in some places-most notable is a spot on the treble side edge where the fingerboard meets the neck.  There is a small finish chip at the end of the headstock and a notable ding in the neck around the 8th fret. The ding is about ¼” across but it does not impede playability. Overall, this guitar is in fine players’ condition with no breaks, cracks or visible repairs and it plays and looks amazing.

Playability:  Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots.

Modifications: n/a

Weight: 8 lbs, 10 oz.

Case:  This Gibson comes with the original Gibson hardshell case and we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured!
