About This Listing

Selling my rare made in Japan JooDee Les Paul from the 70s. This is a high quality pre lawsuit Era Les Paul ( open book headstock )Made at the Yamaki factory that made very high quality instruments.. Nice thick maple top on a mahogany body. This guitar is heavy like a Gibson Les Paul. 60s profile neck. Pickups are upgrades from the originals. I believe the bridge pup is a DiMarzio super distortion. Tuners are upgrades. Frets have some wear but plenty of life left on them. This guitar plays and sounds like a Gibson  ( I have 2 of them)  No  wonder Gibson was nervous in the 70s because the Japanese were making as good if not better guitars than Gibson during the Nolin era. Binding and switch tip have turned a nice butterscotch color from aging. Looks like there was a hairline crack along the binding /fingerboard at the headstock that was repaired  at some point. Nice solid repair. Some nicks and scrapes but just usual from a guitar thats around 45 years old. Hard to beat a set neck Japanese Les Paul from the 70s for way less money than a Gibson.
