The OM-28 Merrill's in Cocobolo are believed by many to sound as good as any Brazilian vintage available today.
This guitar is as loud as any OM you will ever get your hands on. This guitar plays great with soft touch finger style (meat of your fingers), thumb pick, and stands up to the hardest flat pick attack that you can muster. No wash out to be found here. The overtones are balanced, not over the top and they ring from high to low (not bottom end heavy). This guitar has a vintage sunburst top, pyramid bridge, and drop in saddle.
The grain of the red spruce top shows beautifully through the vintage burst. This guitar is a fine example of why Merrill Guitars are so sought after.
Selling to feed my fix for a new custom Merrill.
Note: There are scratches on both sides of the headstock above the tuning pegs, (see photo), due to my daughter's over-aggressive use of a string winding tool. Also, one scratch below the bridge. This in no way affects the overall appearance, tuners, playability, or tone of the guitar.
