Up for sale is a beautiful Guild F47ce in excellent condition. This guitar was built in the Westerly, Rhode Island plant in the year 2000. This 16 inch lower bout mini jumbo has a AA Sitka Spruce Top with a great set of maple back and sides. These late Westerly F47s are hard to find, and do not come up for sale often. You will see more commonly, the F47s built in Corona, California. The Corona built guilds are not as desired as the Westerly models. Guild was going through major changes during the Corona years, including hiring new guitar builders that did not come from the Westerly plant. I have been a Westerly built F47 owner since i was a teenager. I was working in my local music shop, which was a guild dealership, so i had access to all the guild models, and played them daily. I chose the F47 guild over all the other models, for its beauty, sound quality, and reasonable price range. I saved up for over a year to buy it, and thankfully, I have been able to hold on to it all these years.
There is not much to say negative about this guitar. I won't call it "mint" because I don't believe you can keep used and vintage guitars mint unless you went to the store, bought it new, took it home, and put it in a time capsule, in an underground bunker for 20 years. Seriously though, it has some very light wear that is very hard to find. It is a closet queen that was extremely well cared for. It still looks and smells like a new guitar. The spruce top is pristine with no weather checking. The saddle is tall and the neck angle is perfect with a straight edge ruler measurement sitting on top of the bridge. No fretwear, no binding issues, no bridge lift. I am really struggling to find something negative to say here. The tuners have just a touch of wear, but still look new. The deluxe 6 latch case is great, and has little to no wear. The pickup works properly.
Overall this is a home run of a guild score in my book. The guitar is 20 years old, but looks like it could be maybe a year old. If you hung it up in a music store, people would assume it's new, or just see some light demo wear. The sound is incredible on this particular guild. When i first unboxed it, i was pleasantly surprised at it's beauty. Then i gave it a couple of strums. before i knew it, over an hour had passed, and i was still playing it. I buy used and vintage guilds weekly, and get to play many models. I haven't just sat there and played one for over an hour, straight out of the box, in a long time. The bass response is unbelievable on this grand concert, mini jumbo body. You get all the articulate perks of a maple guitar, with the bass of a rosewood, to balance it out. Also, it has a 1 3/4 inch nut width, so fingerstyle players, or guys who struggle with accidently muting notes, that wont happen with this guild. I'm a guild acoustics collector with many of the best sounding guilds in my stable. I urge anybody who has not given this model a try yet, to give it a chance, from one guild guy to the next.
The only guitars i buy, sell, and collect are guild. I have many other great guild acoustics for sale, and i add more inventory every week, so please check back with me often to see what gems i have found. When you buy from me, your guild is pre-qualified, and you will know what you are getting. I list everything i see on a guitar, good or bad. I say no to hundreds of guild acoustics before i say yes and buy one. I think you will be very happy with your purchase, if you decide to buy this guitar. Please message me with any questions, requests, or offers. I prefer to make deals privately or through my website. Send me a message if you are interested. Thanks for looking!! I
