About This Listing

Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big) PGM333 Signature Guitar
what an amazing guitar!! incl. certificate, Hardcase
Reversed headstock, fretboard inlays, fixed bridge, black  finished f-holes  etc.

Paul Gilbert’s first signature Ibanez was released in 1989 — time flies doesn’t it? To celebrate Paul’s 30th anniversary with Ibanez, they’ve released this limited-edition signature guitar. A resonant African mahogany body, combined with a maple/walnut neck and Macassar ebony fingerboard, ensures that this PGM333 sounds great before you even plug it in. A trio of sweet-sounding DiMarzio mini-humbuckers delivers ample output, amazing clarity, and soulful dynamics. A meaty 5-piece PGM-shaped neck supplies plenty of comforts, while a 16”-radius 24-fret fingerboard ensures effortless playability. The PGM333 limited-edition Paul Gilbert 30th Anniversary includes a hardshell case, certificate of authenticity, and PGM 30th anniversary picks.

3 DiMarzio mini-humbuckers yield killer tones

At Sweetwater, we adore the sound of mini-humbuckers, and for this limited-edition PGM333, Mr. Gilbert specified three particularly sweet ones. DiMarzio PG-13 mini-humbuckers deliver more output with increased harmonics while still maintaining the clarity and dynamics of a vintage mini bucker. The result is a 3-dimensional, almost vocal sound that rockets off the string and rings true as it sustains. The response to your pick attack is intense, and the harmonies are glorious. You’ll love these pickups.

Meaty PGM neck designed to Paul's specs

Paul Gilbert made sure Ibanez got the specs of his preferred guitar neck right. Having a slightly meatier neck profile than some other Ibanez models, you’ll notice that it adds a touch more sustain and girth to your tone. Its 5-piece maple and walnut construction ensures that it will stay straight and strong when you put it through its paces. The larger bolt-on neck pocket offers more contact, allowing an amazing tonal transfer.

A legendary rock guitarist, a legendary guitar

From his proto-shredding days with Racer X through his work with Mr. Big to his solo work and an array of other projects, Paul Gilbert has remained the consummate “guitarist's guitarist.” His ability to range from pop and rock structures to metal, blues, and even classical and funk styles makes Paul go far beyond his reputation as a formidable shredder — but shred he certainly can. His limited-edition PGM333 is built for speed as well as tone, and it gives you the unique“Gilbertized” looks to match.
