Mic / Pre matrix: Plug in up to 4 different mics and 8 (!) different preamplifiers and swap out each combination with the push of a button. Individual 48V switches for each mic: when phantom power comes from this unit rather than from the pre's, no power disruption occurs when switching.
Two additional 4-slot insert blocks, for instance for EQs & dynamics. The signal feeds continuously to all insert sends for seamless A-B comparisons: compressors won't have to 'catch up' to the signal each time they are switched into the signal path.

The mic/pre matrix and the 2 insert blocks are independent of each other and have individual balanced ins & outs. Thus, it is possible to process up to 3 different signals individually within this unit. 

You will need 2 DB 25 cables / multicores (Tascam format) to connect to the pre's, and 2 more for the insert blocks. If your pres are in a 500 rack such as the Rupert Neve R6 or API 500-8B, DB25-to-DB25 cables will let you connect everything:

You can replace up to 32 XLR cables with just FOUR DB25 cables. Big savings + maximum convenience ahead!

2 XLR cables are required to patch the different blocks on the back for serial use.
