About This Listing

Serial # 20040715159. The short-scale 710ce-L9 was built in limited numbers back in 2004. It is fairly rare as I cannot find this model online. It was a popular model, as there aren’t many other Taylor Dreadnoughts built with the shorter scale from this period. The guitar’s combination of square-shouldered Dreadnought Rosewood body, Englemann spruce top and 24-7/8” scale neck combine to offer up a particularly warm and rich big-guitar tone. It’s a D-sized guitar that fingerstyle players will enjoy, and also has a lovely strummed tone.

The guitar is in good condition and a nice recent set-up by the Taylor luthiers. There is almost no wear on the guitar – the finish is beautiful and the frets are barely used.

Rosewood bound body and fingerboard, Englemann spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. Ebony bridge and fingerboard, pearl inlays, koa rosette, gold hardware, abalone bridge pins, and recently installed and upgraded ES2 onboard electronics.

The guitar is a great player with a few dings but all are cosmetic. I am the second owner and this is my first Taylor, I fell in love with Taylor guitars on the first strum. I’m thinning the Taylor herd now to get my first V-Class: a 322CE 12 Fret!
