SELLERS NOTE: Last chance to purchase from my shop for a while will be December 17, 2024. I'll be leaving a few days later for 90 days of travel overseas.

I love this thing. I've used it with midi keyboard controllers, DAW sequences and with a Roland GR-33 guitar synth and it's been incredible. If you use the presets it can sound somewhat dated, but if you make your own presets - which is what I do - it 100% does not have to.

The condition is excellent, with a very clean top and bottom, and only a slight paint scratch on one of the interior corners. The ears are in great shape, but you can tell it's been racked.

This is the 19" rack version, but in terms of the synth itself, all of the following (gleaned from the internet) applies:

The K2000 leverages V.A.S.T. (Variable Architecture Synthesis Technology), enabling the processing of any multi-sample, noise, or waveform with nearly any synthesis technique. Its 8MB of onboard ROM provides a wide range of authentic, high-quality samples. With 32-bit internal processing and 18-bit DACs, the K2000 ensures exceptional audio fidelity.

The synth features 31 powerful sound-shaping algorithms, offering tools like resonant filters, EQs, amplitude modulation, crossfade, distortion, digital wrap, waveshaper, pulse width modulation, high-frequency enhancement, low-frequency oscillators, hard sync oscillators, and mixing oscillators. These tools are all fully adjustable in real time via MIDI, offering unparalleled versatility.

The K2000 boasts a sleek, intuitive design, complemented by premium pitch and mod wheels. Its 61-note velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive keyboard delivers excellent playability and responsiveness. The K2000s variant adds a professional-grade sampler with 2MB of RAM (expandable to 64MB), capable of stereo or mono sampling through analog or digital inputs. Sample editing is comprehensive, while storage is supported via the built-in 3.5” disk drive or external SCSI devices. An internal SCSI connection also supports adding a hard drive.

Professional-grade features include a stereo multi-effects processor offering up to four simultaneous effects like reverb, chorus, delay, multi-tap delay, flanging, and rotary simulation. The K2000 also supports up to six polyphonic audio outputs. Its 32-track sequencer offers extensive editing capabilities, including 768 ppq resolution, non-destructive editing, and groove quantization.

For those who prefer a compact option, the K2000rs rack-mount version delivers all the features and power of the keyboard model in a 3-space module. While the keyboard’s playability is exceptional, the rack version is ideal for those who don’t need the keys but want the same sonic capabilities.

The K2000 has been a favorite of iconic artists like Robert Miles, Pink Floyd, Jean-Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode, Hardfloor, Tori Amos, Stevie Wonder, Nick Rhodes (Duran Duran), Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, Tangerine Dream, and Vangelis.

The K2000 remains a timeless powerhouse, combining robust synthesis, professional sampling, and versatile performance features into a single elegant instrument.
