The Telecaster Bass was introduced in 1968 as a tribute to the slab style body reminiscent of the first Precision basses. Initially equipped with one single coil pickup like its predecessor, the Telecaster Bass was fitted with a massive Humbucking pickup in early 1972. The model was discontinued in 1979.
