Slot looks like it's 3/16" wide. See pics.
Slot is 4 1/2" inches long
Hole at end is 1/2" inch in diameter. See pics.
I think this would hold either a cymbal or tambourine in the 1930's that would be attached to the bass drum and would be struck by the foot pedal. They had and extra beater on the end in those days. I could be wrong. Let me know if you know exactly what this is.
