About This Listing

In 1967, Ampeg updated the look of their 1960s line to appeal to the changing tastes of guitarist. The change consisted of moving to black tolex covering, silver sparkle grill cloth and tasteful chrome trim. The next year, the entire lineup changed over to the next generation of amps that would define Ampeg in the 1970s (think SVT and V4), so the 1967 look was one year only.

This is the Gemini II which is a great sounding 30-watt all-tube amp with reverb and tremolo and a 15" speaker. The tone is somewhere between a Fender and a Vox, and it takes pedals very well. The reverb is excellent and the tremolo is killer with a secret staccato setting that is totally unique. The 15" suits the amp very well and sounds great with the larger, partially closed cabinet. It has the original footswitch and even the original tubes. The power cord has been updated to a grounded 3-prong cord when it was recently gone-through by a tech.

This particular example is in great condition and includes an original cover and removable dolly. The speaker is a replacement Weber '59 Sound AlNiCo speaker that sounds great and will last for years and years.
