CMI (CLEARTONE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS) MELODY MAKER, EARLY TO LATE 1970’S

Up for sale is this fantastic cherry sunburst Melody Maker. It’s from the early to late 1970’s and looks absolutely fantastic.

CMI (Cleartone Musical Instruments) was a subsidiary of Jim Marshall of Marshall Amplifiers and was one of the lawsuit era guitars. 

These lawsuit guitars were so good that the original manufacturers took out lawsuits to get them stopped from being produced. 

CMI guitars were considered to be one of the better well made and great playing copies.

It has to be up there with the best of them and is a real rock machine through and through. It plays great with a lovely feel to the neck with a nice low action. This rock machine will grace any stage. When I got this guitar I couldn’t believe just how strong and articulate these pickups would sound. They really deliver a fantastic tone.

These older CMI guitars are very sought after nowadays and are becoming increasingly harder to find and are now very highly prized among collectors. A few minutes spent with this guitar and you'll understand why. This is an affordable collectible and player guitar in every sense of the word.

It’s in fantastic condition with only a few dings and marks here and there particularly around the edges, but nothing that you wouldn’t expect to find on a 43 year old guitar. It has a hardly noticeable ding in the lacquer on the back of the neck were it has been laid hard against an amp. I have tried to show this in the photos but its very difficult to see. But the buyer needs to bear this in mind.

All in all, it’s in really good used condition for its age and is a lot of guitar for the money. Comes with the generic hard case shown in the photos and it will be very well packed for shipping.
