Right out of the box, this beauty sounds as good as my 25 year old Santa Cruz. It is a remarkable H & D Herringbone Custom dreadnought guitar. A really outstanding guitar. Right out of the case it was apparent this would be a special guitar for someone. Speaks effortlessly without pushing it at all. When one does lay into it it fills the room with the most wonderful, balanced and clear sound.
Sonically, it occupies a sweet spot right in between a great mahogany and rosewood guitar, with the best qualities of both.
It rides the line with elegance and grace. The top is Alaskan old growth Sitka spruce and the back and sides are Native Virginia black walnut with lovely tight curl/flame - this figure being unusual for walnut.
This is undoubtedly a lifetime guitar.
