I bought this from Hazelshould a while back and this was his description about this specific cymbal. 

This is one of the darkest sounding, thinnest Flat Rides I have Ever HEARD. It's ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! It's an Istanbul OM or Tony Williams Series vibe with the blue hue aged patina!

As you can see there is beautiful craftsmanship on this 22 ". The plain of the cymbal has a gorgeous hand hammered wavy appearance-like a Vintage Zildjian of yore. And, it's even got a FACTORY BLUE PATINA like the Istanbul OM or Tony Williams Series!

As you may know, the absence of a bell gives this 22" a great CONTROLLED vibe!! You can lay into it all day and it will never get away from you, the overtones never build up.

That's the fun. The wash is complex but very controlled and fast!

Weighing in at an ultra thin 1716 grams this Masterwork plays like a great Paper Thin, DRY SUPER DARK FLAT Ride. The tone is wonderfully DARK and organic, compliments of all that hand hammering!! The stick attack is very "tick" like and prominent but with a subtle complexity - this beauty is mellow and has an overall fast decay.

AND AT 1716 IT BENDS LIKE A TORTILLA!! If this thing was edible it would make a terrific taco. The blue kind.

At that weight the pitch is medium low.

And if you crash on the edges you get a wonderfully short, lightening crash effect tone that's perfect for accents while riding.

And this 22" would be a wonderful candidate for rivets if you're so inclined.

Very dark. Medium low pitched. Dry but still thin so not at all chime-like. Very quick decay. Great subtle complexity. Very, very controlled and at only 1716 grams it's responsive.

This insanely THIN 22" actually sounds like a rain storm. I don't know how else to describe it.

This is hands down one of the nicest 22" Flats I have.  And NO ONE has anything close to this 22" PROTOTYPE!!!

You can use this Masterwork Prototype Pre-Aged 22" Flat Ride for whatever your heart's desire. Obviously it's great for jazz, blues, ballads and soul. But that's only if you dream in black and white. This 22" in amazing for mellower rock...and pop, funk, fusion, acoustic and singer songwriter gigs, and definitely session work.
