General introduction and background:
Super nice and rare Yamato-badged SG-style guitar. I am not entirely sure which of the factories made this, but it is similar to Ibanez-models of the same time (early 1970s) and maybe made by Fujigen or Terada.
Measurements, weight and other specs:
- Scale: 628 mm
- Nut: 42 mm
- Weight: 3,12 kg
- Pickups: Maxon, unlabelled, single coils in humbucker housings
- Body: likely solid majoganey
- Neck: unknown, the fretboard is nicely grained rosewood
Condition:
- Body: some dings and dongs, lacquer damages, but nothing serious.
- Neck: straight neck, good (low, small vintage) frets with some minor wear (7/10), truss rod works.
- Electronics: fully functional, standard G*b*on layout
- Hardware: fully functional, minor traces of corrosion
- Originality: Fully original except for the toggle switch (the original fell apart)
Sound and Playability:
- Playability and string action: The guitar plays easily with a low string action, albeit you got to be used to the typical low, small vintage frets and respective playing feeling.
- Intonation: spot on, nicely adjustable with the bridge
- Sound: Please refer to the video for a sound test.
Repairs, Service:
- Complete cleaning of body, parts and fretboard
- Frets polished and fretboard oiled
- New 10 gauge Pyramid nickel strings put on
- Set up as good as possible
- Ready to be played (just tune it up)

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
CITES protection: all of the items I sell have been legally imported to the EU before January 1st 2017 and are registered with the authorities in Hamburg, Germany (if applicable).
