Overview
The Epiphone '58 Korina Explorer sports a Korina body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and Alnico Classic humbucking pickups to make for an affordable reissue to one of the most valuable vintage Gibson guitars.
This model is virtually indistinguishable from the laminated Mahogany/Alder model that began at the same time, with the only difference being the body wood. Both models were offered in black Ebony finish, adding to the confusion, but the laminated models came in Red and Alpine white, which were not available finishes for the Korina model.
