This beauty from the Fender Custom Shop is a 1960 Stratocaster in classic black. Standard five way switch with this baby as well as the single volume and two tones. The rear tone knob is wired only to the middle pickup to leave the bridge pickup wide open for the most power. This guitar has a few unique features. Straight from the custom shop it was in the NOS finish, however the body is labeled as a relic as seen the the photo of the tremolo/vibrato cavity in the back. The guitar is definitely in great shape with a few minor blemishes it has acquired over its 8 years of life. The pickups are Texas Specials and they are beautiful and sparkly in the clean and rip when overdriven. Everything from John Mayer and Stevie Ray Vaughn all the way to Buddy Guy and Jimi Hendrix in this guitar.

If you are a John Mayer fan as I am, this guitar is actually very similar to his "Black 1" that Fender came out with around 2007. It has all gold hardware including the pearloid tuning pegs that are on his guitar and on the original "Lenny" strat. The tremolo cover is currently off on this guitar because that it how it came on the John Mayer strat. It is said to help the body resonate...you can be the judge and install it if you prefer.

I tried to photograph every blemish although there is a tiny amount of finish cracking right where the trem arm is installed that I could not get to show up on a photograph. The neck is perfectly thin and smooth like a great 60's neck should be and I have this set up to exact custom shop specs with 10's. I bought this from Wildwood Guitars in 2014 and it did not include a COA, so I will ship it with the original receipt to confirm that it is all authentic. It also came with a three way switch but I had to converted to the five way. I will include the original three way incase you want to change it back. This is truly a fantastic stratocaster, I simply have three of them now and want to fund a new amp.
