About This Listing

Rare & Hard to Find Hammond M100 Series Model M162 Maple style Tone-Wheel Organ
This beautiful M162 is the Contemporary Maple style of the Famous M100 Series Hammond Tonewheel Organs, made popular and sough after since the 60s.

Now rare and hard to find in such great condition.
The M162 is the most rare issue of the Series M100 models which includes all the same features as the famous M102 Walnut style used by Procul Harem on 'Whiter Shade of Pale' and 'Conquistador'. The M100 models were also used by Spencer Davis, Pink Floyd, Brian Auger, Booker T, the Rascals and many of other great bands from the 1960s and 70s thru today.   The M100 series models are featured on more hits than any other Hammond organ of that time, including the now legendary B3 and is often referred to as the one and only real "Baby B3"
This organ was bought new in 1966 and has been a one owner, one location unit till recently when the original owner moved into assisted living and we acquired it.  So its in excellent near mint condition for its age, all functions work as they should, all regular maintainance has been performed over the years.   This "redcap" model features fantastic sound.  This is truly a rare find in this condition.
It has the more powerful tube amp upgrade from the L100 models, adding an extra 23 watts to the mix for 40 watt output, and features 3 built in speakers, folding lid with music rest .
NOTE: the maple finish is actually a shade or two darker than the pictures which seem to be "washed-out" by the photo flash.
