Vintage 1984 Guild FS46CE (Peter Buck - R.E.M. Tour Used) Acoustic Electric Guitar w/ Case!

Up for sale is this vintage 1984 Guild FS46CE acoustic electric guitar. This guitar was owned and used on tour by Peter Buck of R.E.M. and is a VERY COOL and RARE piece of musical history.

This guitar (given away by it's odd six-on-a-side headstock, we've only seen one other example of this headstock on this model, and maple neck) can be seen in the R.E.M. live video from November 10, 1984 in Japan around the thirteen minute mark.

The instrument does show some wear, including some indentations on the front (pictured) and some belt buckle rash on the back. It is all original.

Our tech has just went over this instrument. He cleaned it up, polished the frets, gave it a fresh set of strings, and a fresh set up. It plays nicely with acoustic-spec. action and there is a bit of saddle left if you want to bring it down a bit lower. All of the electronics have just been tested and work perfectly as they should.

The original (but loose-fitting) hardshell case is included and still retains the markings from tour use, including the R.E.M. Athens, Georgia office address on the bottom of the case. Everything that was in the case pocket is included, but we aren't sure of the origin of those items.

Overall, this is a VERY cool piece and a rare opportunity to own the ULTIMATE R.E.M. piece to become the centerpiece to your collection.
